Rassemblant le travail de Lucia Choulakian et de Sylvie Goguen, l’exposition propose des installations et des œuvres en estampe, en peinture et en photographie issues des démarches artistiques entreprises pendant leurs études.
Lucia Choulakian, originaire de Moncton, est une étudiante de 4 année au Baccalauréat en arts visuels de l’Université de Moncton avec concentration en photographie et en estampe. Au cœur de son travail se trouve une quête identitaire à travers laquelle elle s’intéresse à la place et à la représentation de la femme dans la société actuelle et passée ainsi qu’à la destruction du monde naturel, qui sont tous deux victimes du système patriarcal.
Originaire de Shediac Bridge, Sylvie Goguen travaille comme graphiste depuis plus de 25 ans. En 2013, elle a voulu redécouvrir sa voix artistique en retournant aux études pour explorer les médiums des arts plastiques. Sylvie obtiendra son baccalauréat en arts visuels de l'Université de Moncton avec une concentration en peinture et en estampe en 2025. Ayant grandi en campagne, la nature, la famille et la vie simple ont été une grande source d’inspiration à sa créativité. Dans son travail artistique, elle explore ces thèmes pour créer des récits de ses sujets d’intérêt de façon intime, frappante ou mémorable.

Featuring the work of Lucia Choulakian and Sylvie Goguen, the Graduating Student’s Exhibition includes installations and works in printmaking, painting, and photography that are the result of their artistic process during their studies.
Lucia Choulakian, a native of Moncton, is a 4th year student in the Bachelor of Visual Arts program at the Université de Moncton with a concentration in photography and printmaking. At the heart of her work is a quest for identity through which she is interested in the place and representation of women in present and past society as well as the destruction of the natural world, both of which are victims of the patriarchal system.
Originally from Shediac Bridge, Sylvie Goguen has been working as a graphic designer for over 25 years. In 2013, she wanted to rediscover her artistic voice by returning to school to explore the mediums of visual arts. Sylvie will graduate from the Université de Moncton in 2025 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in painting and printmaking. Growing up in the country, nature, family and the simple life have been a great source of inspiration to her creativity. In her artwork, she explores these themes to create narratives of her subjects of interest in intimate, striking or memorable ways.
