Machinari convie au voyage.

Un parcourt où chaque plan-tableau devient une fenêtre, une brèche sur une autre réalité.

Tout du long, l’artiste déjoue le regard, effectue diverses manipulations avec l’image qui cherchent à donner corps à la photographie : forme de résistance à l’immatérialité du processus numérique.

En résulte un feuilleté d’espace-temps; une oscillation lente entre disparition et dévoilement.

Léna Mill-Reuillard travaille l’image, qu’elle soit photographique, vidéographique, ou cinématographique. Elle détient un baccalauréat en cinéma ainsi qu’une maitrise en arts visuels et médiatiques de l’Université du Québec à Montréal. Son travail a entre autre été présenté à DAZIBAO, à VU Photo et à la Galerie de l’UQAM. Parallèlement, plusieurs films auxquels elle a participé à titre de directrice de la photographie ont voyagé dans de nombreux festivals.

Machinari is an invitation to escape.

A sequence of tableau shots becomes a window, a breach into another reality.

The artist thwarts the viewer’s gaze and manipulates the image in order to give dimension to photography: a form of resistance to the immateriality of the digital process.

The result is a layering of space and time; a slow oscillation between disappearance and revelation.

Léna Mill-Reuillard works with images, whether photographic, videographic or cinematic. She holds a bachelor’s degree in cinema and a master’s degree in visual and media arts from the Université du Québec à Montréal. Her work has been shown at the Galerie de l’UQAM, the gallery Les Territoires and at Centre VU. Several films on which she has worked as director of photography have travelled to numerous festivals.
