Marthe Brideau
was appointed chief librarian at the Bibliothèque
Champlain located on the Moncton campus. The appointment is for a
regular five-year mandate until December 2017. A native of Tracadie-
Sheila, Ms. Brideau holds a bachelor of science with specialization in
biology from the Université de Moncton and a master in library sciences
from the Université de Montréal.
Jacques Paul Couturier
was appointed Edmundston campus vice-
president for a five-year mandate beginning July 1, 2013. Jacques Paul
Couturier holds a Ph.D. and a master in history from the Université
de Montréal. He also holds a bachelor of arts in history and a
multidisciplinary arts degree from the Université de Moncton and
studied at the Université de Poitiers, in France.
Pierrette Fortin
was appointed dean of studies at the Edmundston
campus for a five-year mandate beginning July 1, 2013. Ms. Fortin
holds a Ph.D. in philosophy and a master of arts in philosophy from
the Université Laval as well as a bachelor of arts with specialization
in philosophy from the Université de Moncton.
Gino LeBlanc
, assistant executive director of the Canadian Institute for
Research on Public Policy and Public Administration (CIRPPPA) has
been assigned to the president and vice-chancellor’s office for a period
of 18 months as special advisor, strategic planning and government
relations. As part of his assignment, which started on January 2, 2013,
Mr. LeBlanc’s mandate is to guide and support the management team
through a strategic planning exercise. He is also responsible for managing issues related
to the institution’s government relations initiatives.
Edgar Robichaud
, former assistant vice-president, academic affairs,
was appointed vice-president, administration and human resources
effective July 1, 2013. In his new role, Mr. Robichaud will be responsible
for the management of human, material and financial resources for
the institution as a whole. Mr. Robichaud holds a master and a Ph.D.
in forestry from the University of New Brunswick as well as a bachelor
of applied sciences from the Université Laval.
Richard Saillant
, former vice-president of administration and human
resources, was appointed executive director of the Canadian Institute
for Research on Public Policy and Public Administration (CIRPPPA) at
the Université de Moncton. The appointment takes effect on July 1, 2013.
Prior to joining the Université de Moncton, he was director general of
investment review and strategic planning with Industry Canada. A federal
public servant since 1997, he was also director of rail policy at Transport Canada and an
economist with the Privy Council Office of Canada.
Sid-Ahmed Selouani
will become dean of studies at the Shippagan
campus on July 1, 2013. A professional engineer with a master in
telecommunications, Mr. Selouani was the recipient of a World Bank
scholarship that led to the completion of a Ph.D. in electrical engineering
and computer sciences from a renowned French research laboratory.
