French as a second language - 2022-2023
Université de Moncton Continuing Education - French Training – 2022-2023 Program
Learning a new language is a challenging yet extremely rewarding process! Whether you’re looking to improve your French for professional reasons or as a personal project, we’re here to give you the support you need. We pride ourselves in how we accompany our students throughout their language learning project. We will start by getting you in the right mind set to make the most of your learning time and develop learning methods that you can continue using even after you’ve completed their courses with us. This year, we’re offering four 8-week sessions to improve your French. These courses are offered to the community members who want to improve their French skills expediently and efficiently. To achieve your goals, you can choose from the options detailed below .
Evening French Courses
Our evening courses will give you a solid base of communication skills, while giving you many opportunities to practice your target language. The courses focus on developing language skills in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Grammar and vocabulary are introduced at each level and a great emphasis is placed on social interaction and communication skills.
Once registered, all students will be required to submit to a placement test which measures the level of language competency in the four following areas: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. An overall score will determine the course level: beginner, elementary, intermediate or upper-level.
Registered students will have 8 weeks of courses (16 courses in all, which amounts to 24 hours). These sessions will be delivered in virtual classrooms.
At the end of the 8 week session, you will be awarded 2.4 CEU (Continuing Education Unit).
