Annual Report 2015-2016 - page 6-7

Through an innovative partnership between the Université de Moncton
and Shannex RLC Limited - a provider of long-term care in the province -
a university living complex for seniors is being built on the Moncton campus.
It is the first of its kind in New Brunswick.
The agreement was concluded with U de M Développement Inc. that
will act as a trustee for the management of the project. It will include
a 60-bed long-term care facility, a retirement complex, a special needs
facility and apartment buildings for independent retirees. Economic spinoffs
from the partnership will mostly be allocated to research on the health of
seniors. The project will create opportunities for student internships and
employment for graduates.
This represents an investment of $50 million for Shannex. The first phase of
the project will be completed in the fall of 2017.
