The program
The program focuses on developing language skills in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing at the intermediate and advanced levels. More complex grammar and vocabulary are introduced at each level. Emphasis is placed on social interactions and communication skills as well as an awareness of Acadian culture through its literature, tradition, music and art throughout the program.
Oral communication plays a very important role in the classroom, workshops and socio-cultural activities. The classroom setting will provide ample opportunities to interact and share opinions on various topics. You will gain confidence in communicating in everyday situations as well as in other settings requiring more complex language skills.
Organized activities are scheduled weekly, including formal instruction, workshops and socio-cultural activities, some of which take place on weekends. All students are expected to participate fully and to devote their time completely to their second language.
Who Attends the Program?
The program is designed specifically for high school students (from grade 10 to 12) wishing to enhance their skills, enabling them to interact in everyday social situations requiring a higher level of French competence as well as for those wishing to enhance their reading and writing skills through Acadian literature and current topics.
