    Training program: The Provincial and Territorial Public Servant on the International Stage

    Moncton, September 19, 2011 – From September 12th to 16th, the General Directorate of Continuing Education at the Université de Moncton was pleased to welcome approximately fifty participants from all parts of Canada for “The Provincial and Territorial Public Servant on the International Stage” training program.  Comprised of seven training modules, the purpose of this professional development program was to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills, particularly in matters of diplomacy, to work more effectively on the international stage, and to promote cooperation among the various governmental institutions nation-wide.

    For this training, the General Directorate of Continuing Education and its partners called upon renowned experts in international relations from both government and university sectors.  The first of its kind on a national scale, the training program was enormously successful and the organizers expect to offer the program again over the course of the next year.

    The program was offered by the General Directorate of Continuing Education at the Université de Moncton, in partnership with the New Brunswick Department of Intergovernmental Affairs and Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada.
