Our impact

The uniqueness of the project lies in the co-creation approach adopted to identify, validate, implement and disseminate the adaptation measures for agricultural businesses in three countries with different socio-economic realities. Adaptations inspired by researchers from the four countries and the experience of farmers in Benin, Morocco and Canada will emerge from the project. This innovative approach is also complemented by the use of digital tools to facilitate co-creation between partners: design thinking, GIS, a private Facebook group and a serious game. These educational tools will be used to better observe and remotely share conservation practices, climate challenges, and collaborate to find winning adaptation solutions. With scientific information on their agricultural resources (water, soil, biodiversity, etc.), farmers will make informed decisions: improve or stabilize their productivity, provide ecosystem services and reverse the trend of environmental degradation. The "inter-skills", international and intergenerational collaboration will provide new solutions.

The Climate-Adapted Gardens project is based on research funded by the New Frontiers in Research Fund of the Government of Canada and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation).
