Three-year Collaboration Agreement between the Université de Moncton and the Maison de l'Innovation de la Médecine Spécialisée

The Université de Moncton and the Maison de l'Innovation de la Médecine Spécialisée (MIMS) today officially signed a collaboration agreement.

Several forms of collaboration are envisioned to foster collaborative interests in the healthcare field with MIMS, its partners and MIMS-supported and accredited start-ups, as well as to facilitate student recruitment.

“This partnership will lead to research collaborations in the health field and enrich the academic careers of our students,” said Dr. Denis Prud'homme, President and Vice-Chancellor of the Université de Moncton. “This is our first collaborative agreement with MIMS, and we're very proud of it.”

Among other things, MIMS is committed to providing the official designation of MIMS-Moncton, the parent company of MIMS in Canada. MIMS-Moncton will have a seat on the scientific and strategic committees and will appoint a liaison officer in France to facilitate interactions with MIMS-Moncton. The Université de Moncton thus becomes the preferred research partner of MIMS and its partners. It will also facilitate the exchange of trainees and students between France and Canada who are involved in MIMS objectives, particularly in the Université de Moncton's PLEIADE programs.

As part of this agreement, the Université de Moncton agrees to provide MIMS with a liaison officer for MIMS-Moncton to promote MIMS objectives and mutual interest activities. The Université de Moncton is also committed to providing MIMS with an office within our institution and will participate annually in the MIMS Innovation Forum. Once the memorandum of understanding with MIMS has been executed, our institution will endeavour to facilitate links with the New Brunswick government for MIMS partners and start-ups interested in setting up in our province.

The agreement is in effect for a three-year period.
