Gabrielle Sauvé to join Aigles Bleues
Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues coach Joline Richard is pleased that Gabrielle Sauvé has decided to don her team's uniform for the 2023-2024 Atlantic University Sport women's volleyball season.
Gabrielle Sauvé 17 years old is 5 feet 9 inches tall and is originally from the Fredericton area. She plays for the Spartans and Volleyball New Brunswick's U18 team.
“I wanted to pursue my post-secondary studies in French, it's a big priority,” said Gabrielle Sauvé. “I also want to play volleyball because it's very important to me; it's a big part of my life. I really like the team, the coaches and the environment. The university offers my degree program, political sciences. I really like the university and the team, so my choice was not a very difficult decision.”
Sauvé aims to improve in the sport. She says she's excited to be able to learn how to play better and become the best possible version of herself. She aims to become a lawyer. She has been playing the sport for 10 years and says her work ethic is her strength. Her footwork, speed, reading of the game, reception and the technique are points to improve. She also practises weightlifting.
“We are pleased to welcome Gabrielle to our team,” said Joline Richard. “She is a dedicated person who has a very good track record. She has a good top-spin serve and will add offense to our team as a forward.”
