Three players from the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues have been recognized by Atlantic University Sport following the 2022-2023 university volleyball season.

Ivana Urquhart-Mladineo (student in law, from Saint John) and Emily Robichaud (3rd year administration-marketing, from Dieppe) are members of the second all-star team and Cassidy Martin (3rd year in education-physical education, from Saint-Charles-de-Kent) receives the Student-Athlete Community Service Award.

Emily Robichaud is ranked first in U SPORTS with an average of 5.13 digs per set, 2nd in Canada for digs with 344, first by a libero in AUS with .72 assists per set and 5th in receptions with 363. Ivana Urquhart-Mladineo leads the AUS mid-court players in kills per inning with 1.79 and overall kills with 120. She is 2nd overall with 164.5 and 3rd by a mid-court player with 2.5 points per set.

Setter Cassidy Martin is the 2022-2023 recipient of the Erin Bursey Memorial Award, given to the women's volleyball student-athlete who shows outstanding achievements in three areas: volleyball, academics, and community involvement. She is a leader on and off the court. She is the head coach of Club Extrême and École Soleil-Levant girls’ volleyball teams in her community. She is a volunteer referee and acts as an evaluator for local clubs. She is committed to promoting her sport and helping players improve their skills. She also coached the Kent Region track and field team at the Jeux de l'Acadie and an assistant coach for the para-athletics team. She is a member of the U SPORTS Academic Honor Roll and captain of the Aigles Bleues. In 19 games this season, the setter has 317 assists, 6th in the league with an average of 5.20 per inning. She added 7 blocks, 78 digs and 30.5 points.

“Cassidy's community service, academic achievements and leadership are a testament to her remarkable character, dedication, and passion for excellence,” says Moncton head coach, Joline Richard. “She is a role model for her peers and an inspiration to those around her.”
