Aigles Bleues looking to confirm their playoff spot
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (10-14-0-0=20pts, 6th position) are still to confirm their playoff spot and the team has that opportunity this weekend with two Atlantic University Sport women's hockey games.
Marc-André Côté's team will host the St. Thomas University Tommies (7-15-2-0=16pts, 7th position) Saturday at 2 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in the game between the two teams battling for the last playoff position. There are 4 points separating them with 4 games to play. The Moncton squad travels to Antigonish on Sunday to face the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women (17-4-2-1=37pts, 2nd place) at 3 p.m.
“We want to confirm our playoff spot this weekend,” said Moncton coach Marc-André Côté. “We have 4 games to play in the regular schedule. We want to set our pace and have good habits on the ice. We focus on us, and we know what we must do.”
Five teams have already confirmed their playoff appearance. The final two teams, including the Mount Allison Mounties, will see their seasons end next week.
