The University of New Brunswick Reds (15-2-0-1=31pts,1st position) will be the opponents of the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (10-8-1-0=21pts, 4th position) Friday at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena on the Moncton campus in the first home game of 2023.

The Reds have won their last two games while Moncton has suffered a setback in their last four outings. Coach Derek Cormier and the players are looking forward to getting back on the road to victory and they hope to give their fans a win against the Reds.

“We're going to play a solid 60 minutes,” coach Derek Cormier said. “We had a good discussion with the players, and we know where we are and where we want to go. We will build on our Wednesday game, and hope to win all six remaining home games.”

The caliber of play always intensifies during the last stretch with 11 games to be played on the 2022-2023 regular schedule. “The game is intensifying and s tighter,” he added. “We need to play at the speed of the Reds and manage how to play them. These are playoff games for us. We must step up our game and play at another level.”

Étienne Montpetit will be in front of the net for this game. Edouard Saint-Laurent, suspended, defensemen Vincent Lanoue and Olivier Desjardins and forward Mika Cyr, will miss the game due to injuries.
