Hockey: Aigles Bleues to host Panthers
A second consecutive win for the first time this season is desirable for this Saturday, when the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (3-10-0-0=6pts, 7th position) are hosting the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers (6-5-1-0=13pts, 5th position) in an Atlantic University Sport women's hockey game at 2 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.
Both teams promise a good battle, Moncton having scored 27 goals and allowed 29 against compared to 29 and 34 for the visitors. The Panthers defeated the Blue and Gold 2-1 in the season opener on October 7 and then 1-0 the following week.
“We want to build on our Wednesday win, and we have to find consistency on the ice,” said coach Marc-André Côté. “We must string together our performances and be more consistent. The Panthers have a big physical team, and we need to find a way to force the game and put traffic in front of their net. Our special units must also find consistency.”
The Aigles Bleues will close the first half season with two more home games next week.
