Cross country: Aigles at U SPORTS Championships

The U SPORTS cross-country championships will take place Saturday in the Halifax area and 15 members of the Université de Moncton teams will be on the start line of the women's and men's 8 km races.

Coach Steve LeBlanc is taking advantage of this situation to give his athletes experience at the Canadian level. “The goals are for Sophie Black and Damien Canal to finish in the top-100 and we want to match or improve our individual times,” said LeBlanc. “We also want to improve our team's performance for pace compared to the Atlantic University Championship and gain experience in high-quality races to build confidence for the future of the teams.”

The participating female athletes are Sophie Black, Annie Clarke, Amélie Cormier, Myriam Cormier, Gabrielle Côté, Mylène Durette and Hannah Levyssohn. The male athletes are Adrien Bouhtiauy, Damien Canal, Yannick Dupuis, Olivier Godin, Alain Lavoie, Jonathan Roy, Maxime Savoie, and Julien Thibodeau.
