Soccer: Aigles in Nova Scotia on Sunday and Monday

Both Université de Moncton soccer teams travel to Nova Scotia to play Atlantic University Sport teams on Sunday and Monday.

The Aigles Bleues (0 and 3) and Aigles Bleus (0-1-2) will be in Antigonish Sunday for games at 1 p.m. (women) and 3:15 p.m. (men) against the X-Women (3-1-0) and the X-Men of St. Francis Xavier University (4-0-0).  On Monday, the Cape Breton University Capers (4-0-0 women, 3-0-1 men) will be the opponents in Sydney at the same time. These games were initially planned for Saturday and Sunday respectively, but the arrival of Hurricane Fiona forced the postponement of the games by one day.

Playing against two of the top ranked teams will not be an easy task.

“We must continue our efforts on the field,” said Aigles Bleus coach Younes Bouida. “We must take advantage of our opportunities and confirm our play. Defensively, we must make sure we cover our opponents well. Our game is progressing.''

“These are games like any other, we have three games against the best teams at the beginning of the season and we played one,” said Mehyar Zekaroui. “The other two will be this weekend. We aim to reproduce the performance we had against Acadia. We will try to slow them down during the plays. All my players are healthy, and we must play our second half like the first.”
