Hockey: 5 players join the Aigles Bleues

Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues coach Marc-André Côté is pleased to announce that five players have signed their U SPORTS letter of intent to line up with his team for the next Atlantic University Sport women's hockey season.

One player from France, three from Quebec and one from Ontario are expected to show up for training in September with other team members. There are four forwards and one defender.

Flavie Gaydon of Morzine, France is 5 feet 4 inches tall and played with the Pôle France team. A forward, she is enrolled in the baccalaureate of sport, tourism and leisure management.

Sara Régimbald is from Embrun, Ontario and plays with the Lady 67's junior team. She is 5 feet 7 inches tall. A defender, she will pursue a bachelor's degree in psychology.

A native of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Marie-Ève Ré played with Champlain College Lennoxville Cougars. Measuring 5 feet 4 inches, the attacker is enrolled in the Bachelor of Social Work.

Aryann Lamoureux, of St-Hyacinthe, Quebec, is a forward who plays for the Cégep André-Laurendeau Boomerang. She is 5 feet 6 inches tall and is enrolled in the Bachelor of Civil Engineering.

A forward from St-Jérôme, Que., Élodie St-Jacques was a member of the John Abbott College Islanders. She is enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration and is 5 feet 7 inches tall.

“The team was looking to add more depth and players that can make a difference at the start of next season,” said head coach Marc-André Côté. “We have high expectations following the progression we had over the last season. We are aware of the work needed to get there. These players will help us take the next step and fit well within our environment.”

According to the coach, Sara Régimbald has a good size and capable of helping on the offense. Flavie Gaydon shows a good sense of the game and good offensive skills and Marie-Ève Ré understands the game well. Aryann Lamoureux arrives with a good physique and likes to get involved in the game and Élodie St-Jacques works well in both directions of the rink.
