Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues coach Joline Richard is pleased that Sophie Hédou has signed her U SPORTS letter of intent to join her team for the upcoming Atlantic University Sport women's volleyball season.

The 18-year-old athlete is 6 feet 1 inch tall. Originally from Edmundston, she plays with the Mad-Vic (U18) volleyball club.

“I've always wanted to be part of a university team,” says Sophie Hédou. “I think I will have an enriching and enjoyable experience. I immediately felt comfortable with the girls and coaches, and I liked the group’s energy. I am proud to be Francophone, so I am happy to be able to represent a Francophone University. »

Sophie Hédou says it's a good opportunity to deepen her knowledge of the game and learn new techniques. She expects to improve and continue to develop as an athlete. “I also hope to be able to stand out and get involved beyond volleyball. I also look forward to making new acquaintances and connections with new people.”
She has been playing volleyball for 6 years and her strengths are her offensive play with good services. She hopes to improve all aspects of the game, and especially her blocking speed and make a better reading of the game. Her communication on the court during the game and her consistency are two other aspects to improve.  She is enrolled in the kinesiology program.

“We are very delighted to welcome Sophie to our team,” said coach Joline Richard. “With her height and good energy, Sophie has the potential to become a key player for our team.”
