Aigles Bleues in Halifax on Saturday

With two wins in hand in a week, the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues hit the road Saturday to Halifax, Nova Scotia, to face the Dalhousie University Tigers in Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey.

This will be a first outing for the Tigers (3-8-2-3=11pts, 7th position) since the end of November as Marc-André Côté's troupe (8-9-0-1=17pts, 6th position) looks to climb in the standings with this third meeting of the semester.

“We have now put the Mounties aside and we want to distance ourselves from the Tigers,” said the head coach. “Dalhousie has a good capable team, but we want to take advantage of the fact this will be our third outing against their first. We are looking for our third win in a row to gain a favorable ranking for the playoffs. That is an important game for us. We want to play better in the offensive zone. We practiced this week to move the puck better and to have an effective forecheck.”

Moncton will have three more games to play in regular schedule following this game, including a one in Charlottetown on Wednesday, February 23 against the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers.
