Mens’ Soccer: Three More Recruits for the Aigles Bleus

The coach of the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus, Younes Bouida, announced that Lionel Feval (midfielder), Yannis Morel (goalkeeper) and Wayan Tafial (midfielder) have confirmed their intention to suit up with his team for the next Atlantic University Sport men’s soccer season.

The three players were selected during a fruitful recruitment campaign launched in Guiana. The goal of the campaign was to build partnerships with soccer clubs in Guiana and the West Indies and to promote the Bleu et Or’s program in these regions.

“I’m happy to welcome these three recruits to the Aigles family,” Younes Bouida, coach of the men’s soccer team, declared. “Yannis is a very good goalkeeper. He was part of one the best teams in Guiana and won a tournament while I was there. He’s a serious young man who wants to make progress. Lionel is a top-calibre midfielder with an excellent work ethic. His playing time will allow him to make his mark in the league. Wayan is a very ambitious young player. He’s smart and he’ll be able to adjust to the style of play in the league.”

Lionel Feval

Feval, who comes from Schœlcher in Martinique, stands 1.86 m and will be studying Recreation, Sports and Tourism Management. “I’m happy and impatient to join the Aigles Bleus and discover Acadian football,” he explained. “I’ll do everything I can to fit in rapidly and to give my best shot at participating in the growth of the Aigles Bleus. I’ve been passionate about football since I was very young. I’ve been on various rosters for competitions in Martinique and other countries, including the United states. When I was 16 I joined the senior squad of my club in Martinique. It’s logical to me to want to continue in this path and take up this challenge, which has to include success in my studies. That way, I will be able to guarantee my professional future.”

Yannis Morel

Morel, originally from Cayenne in French Guiana, is 1.83 m tall and is also going to be studying Recreation, Sports and Tourism Management next year. “Joining the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus is a true pleasure,” he said. “Since I was 8 or 9, I’ve been playing soccer, and being able to continue to play at this high a level with the Université is truly a wonderful experience. I intend to go all out to represent the Aigles Bleus and the Université properly. I’m eager for the season to begin so that I can go back to playing the sport I love so much and start this new experience with you!”

Wayan Tafial

Tafial, who stands 1.7 m, is originally from Kourou in French Guiana. He will be studying Physical Education. “I’m happy to become part of the Aigles Bleus family,” he stated. “I will always do my best to promote the Aigles Bleus soccer team at the Université de Moncton. Soccer has been an essential part of my life since I was very young. I played at the Club Sportif et Culturel in Cayenne, and with them I participated in the Coupe de France. I also attended the pôle espoir training program in Guiana, and I hold the title of U17 champion of Guiana.”
