Come explore the Québecois and Acadian cultures!

The Continuing Education (Formation continue) of the Université de Moncton and the École de langue française et de culture québécoise of the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC) have announced the creation of a cultural learning program entitled “Trajet Acadie-Québec”. The experience-based guided learning journey will be offered in French and will take place from August 25 to September 7, 2019.

Intended for anyone who wishes to immerse themselves in the Québecois and Acadian cultures by taking part in authentic experiences, Trajet Acadie-Québec is a journey of learning and discovery through Eastern Canada’s francophone regions.

The program provides an opportunity to travel through Acadia of the Maritime Provinces and Québec’s Saguenay region to learn about the modern culture and the rich heritage of both destinations. In addition to the experience-based activities guided by experts, interactive online activities will be offered to deepen the learning experience. Five discovery themes will be explored, including arts and culture, history and heritage, local products, influential peoples and language. The themes will be developed by experts in their field.

This unique program was developed through a partnership established in June 2016 between the École de langue française et de culture québécoise of the UQAC and the Continuing Education of the Université de Moncton. Jean-Jacques Doucet, Executive Director of the Continuing Education, is pleased to announce the new program: “Trajet Acadie-Québec is a unique opportunity to learn and to discover the Francophone universe in North America. The activities planned for each of the region’s themes will not only give participants a better understanding of the regions visited but will more importantly offer a unique learning experience of its kind.”

Marie-Josée Lepage, Program Director at the École de langue française et de culture québécoise at UQAC, states “I’m proud to have collaborated in a program that offers quality content developed by a renowned team of experts and to help make this learning journey an experience that is rich in discoveries for participants. I invite all travel and history enthusiasts to come learn about our regional heritage through this stimulating cultural journey.”

Trajet Acadie-Québec is made possible by the federal government’s Canada History Fund and the City of Moncton.
