Hockey Aigles Bleus to end regular season on Saturday
The Université de Moncton’s hockey team has not won a game since December 1, 2017, and did not qualify for the playoffs. The team has lost its last 12 games.
Coach Judes Vallée is insisting his players will play to win on Saturday. “We should have a complete line-up for the game,” stated Vallée. “Our last game against the Axemen was very physical and intense. We will play to win. It is a question of pride and play in front of our supporters. We have not given them too many occasions to rejoice at this season. We need to work hard on the ice and support our players leaving the team after this campaign.”
Team captain Thierry Comtois said the team will work until the end. “It is not a question of abandoning. We have pride and we will not give up. We did have a deceiving season, and there is not much we can say. This is difficult for us to accept. In the dressing room before the game, I will stress playing for our pride and especially for our fans that have been there all season. The team has not offered them too many joyful moments. We wish to end this on a high note.”
A ceremony honouring fourth-year players (Jean-François Plante, Brandon Thibeau, Danick Emond, Joël Blanchard and Mitchell Robillard ) will be held before the beginning of the game.
