Volleyball Aigles Bleues in Nova Scotia for Two Games
The Aigles Bleues are in Halifax, Saturday, to take on the Saint Mary’s University Huskies (8-3 = 16 points, 2nd position). Sunday, they are in Wolfville against the Acadia University Axewomen (7-4 = 14 points, 3rd position). Moncton has nine games left to play with a four-point deficit against fourth place Sea-Hawks (5-6=10pts). The first four teams qualify for the AUS championship.
“The players are better this week, we saw a progression in each set and with longer rallies, in our last game,” Moncton coach Monette Boudreau-Carroll said. “The players had a different attitude this week, knowing we need to find different tools to win. We are encouraged, and we must continue our development. Memorial, in fourth place, is only four points ahead of us. Unfortunately, we will not play them again this year. We still have hope and with two wins, anything is possible. Nothing will be easy. We will see how we measure up.”
With a top four finish, Moncton will host the AUS championship, in early March.
