Steps to Reset your Password
Step-by-step instructions to create a new password
UMoncton provides for each student a username (e.g. eab1234) and an associated email (e.g. eab1234@umoncton.ca). Students use these individual credentials (email and password) to access their mailbox, Office 365 products, and the university network.
Please note:
After a password change, you should update your password for all the registered connections including campus wireless networks and Office 365 applications.
Step 1: Access your ManiWeb account
- Navigate to https://www.umoncton.ca;
- Click on the quick access menu
in the upper right-hand corner, then click on Mon UMoncton;
- Étudiantes et Étudiants -> Select your Campus -> Mon UMoncton;
- In the section ‘Étudiantes et Étudiants’ select your campus: Edmundston - Moncton - Shippagan;
- Sign in to your ManiWeb account: In the MANIWEB section, click “Ouvrir une session” and proceed depending on your case:
Case 1: You have a temporary NIP
- Enter your NI username (A00******) ;
- Enter your old NIP password (Temporary NIP);
- Click “Connexion”;
- Reenter the old NIP;
- Enter a new NIP;
- Reenter the new NIP.
Case 2: You already have a valid NIP
- Enter your user NI (A00******) and your NIP;
- Click ‘Connexion’.
Step 2: Change your password
Once logged in ManiWeb, follow the following steps to create a new password:
- Click on “Renseignements étudiants”;
- Click on ”Changement du mot de passe (sauf ManiWeb)”;
- Enter a new password;
- Reenter the new password;
- Click on the “Soumettre” button to proceed;
- Refresh the webpage until the status of your requested changes and then confirm these changes.
Tips and tricks
Password expiration
- The student password expires after 365 days; it is required to be changed at least once a year;
- Before the expiry date of your password, you will be notified by a weekly email for up to four weeks reminding you to change your password;
- If the expiry date of your password passes, all your access to the network and resources will be temporarily disabled until you change your password.
Ressources available to your student account:
- The student account allows you to access essential IT resources such as:
- “Courriel et outils de collaboration”: Allows you online access to your email and collaboration applications accessible through Office 365;
- The learning platform CLIC;
- Wireless networks (eduroam, Umoncton and umcm-visiteur);
- Authorized laboratory computers;
- Free download of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, OneNote, SharePoint, Microsoft WhiteBoard, etc.)
Reason for disabling a student account
- One year after your graduation date, your student account will be disabled;
- If you are not enrolled in any courses in the current session, your student account will be disabled.
Impact of disabling the student account
- All your access to the networks and resources will be disabled.
- The Office 365 products installed on your device will be disabled.
- All the storage resources provided will be deactivated. You must transfer your data before the deactivation date.
- Disabled account does not however affect your ManiWeb access.
