    Industrial Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

This workshop has been cancelled, sorry for the inconvenience.

This PLC training presents an integrative approach to the use of electro-mechanical, pneumatic and electrical automation using industrial programmable logic controllers (PLC). Equal emphasis is placed on theory and application on industrial equipment.  The lab portion provides the participants with a good general knowledge of PLC while concentrating on relay ladder logic techniques. Several training setups include industrial conveyor, washing machine, and traffic light control. The training covers a wide range of topics to ensure complete understanding of PLCs and their application in real life automation projects.

    Learning objectives:

    • Identify the major parts of a PLC system
    • Explain the roles of the PLC and PC in industrial control
    • List some of the factors to consider in selecting a PLC
    • Describe the operation of typical input and output modules
    • Define the functions of each of the major components of a PLC CPU
    • Create basic ladder diagrams
    • Learn PLC timer and counter functions
    • Apply combinations of PLC timers and counters for process control

Additional information: This course is also available in French upon request. Consult the CTM’s Website for more information: www.umoncton.ca/ctm
