Céline Surette Appointed Dean of the Faculty of Science
The Board of Governors has appointed Céline Surette as Dean of the Faculty of Science at the Université de Moncton.
Céline Surette is a full professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Université de Moncton. She holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences (2005, UQAM), an MSc in Environmental Studies and a BSc in Science (Chemistry) from the Université de Moncton. Her scientific expertise is in environmental health, biogeochemistry and environmental chemistry.
Surette has been head of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry since 2019. She directed the Master of Environmental Studies program for 6 years. She has been a member of the Academic Senate since 2012 and has served on the Senate Executive Committee, the University Program Committee, the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR) Board, and the FGSR Program Committee. She was a member of the Université de Moncton's internal planning advisory committee for Strategy 2023-2028.
Surette will take office on July 1, 2024 for a regular five-year term.
