The Continuing Education Department expands its range of language and culture training and services

The Université de Moncton is pleased to announce that it is strengthening its language and culture learning offer through a consolidation of activities and services between the Continuing Education Department and the Centre International d'Apprentissage du Français (CIAF). The goal of this strategic collaboration is to position the Université de Moncton as a leader in language and cultural learning in New Brunswick, across Canada and around the world.

Background and objectives of the collaboration

The CIAF, which is managed by the Shippagan campus, has now joined forces with the Continuing Education Department, which is present on all three campuses of the Université de Moncton. This collaboration makes it possible to offer a unified offering in the field of languages and culture. Sid Ahmed Selouani, Vice-Rector at the Shippagan campus, notes that "by joining forces and pooling our expertise, we are moving towards excellence in French language learning, paving the way for increased partnership opportunities for our university. This collaborative approach will enable us to offer learners from diverse backgrounds and sectors a rich, diversified experience tailored to their specific needs". This strategic initiative is based on a pooling of resources and expertise, offering a single gateway to a catalog of training and services for language and cultural learning in Canada.

Benefits of this collaboration

In addition to building on existing initiatives, ongoing projects and its service offering, this promising collaboration significantly expands access to quality training in French, English and more broadly related to languages and culture. It will also enable a better allocation of resources, thus promoting an enriched learning experience for students and professionals alike. According to Dany Benoit, Executive Director of the Continuing Education Department, this partnership "is the result of several years of planning to strengthen the capacity of Continuing Education and position the Université de Moncton as a leader in the provision of training and services in languages and culture." He also notes that this strategic alliance "is the result of an exemplary collaboration between the campuses and an alignment with the Université de Moncton's new strategy." The Continuing Education Department is embarking on a planning process to maintain its current offering, identify areas for development and objectives for expanding activities and services in languages and culture.
