Men’s Hockey: Game 3 Aigles Bleus-X-Men Tuesday night in Antigonish
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (2-0) have a chance to close out the Atlantic University Sport men's hockey men's semi-final series best of 5. The team will travel to Antigonish, N.S., to take on the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men (0-2) in Game 3 on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
Derek Cormier's squad intends to do everything in place to make it to the AUS final this season. The last appearance in the finals was in the 2011-2012 season.
“It's always harder to play on the road and it's going to be another big battle,” said Derek Cormier ahead of the game. “The players know what's at stake and they know they'll have to give it their all to complete this series on Tuesday night. Both goaltenders have shown that they are up to the task and capable and the need to block shots is present. It will now be necessary for the offensive to be able to produce the necessary goals.”
The Aigles Bleus won the first two games 5-2 and 5-3 and the players were able to respond to the opponent's goals.
