Sophie Hédou and Maxime Boudreau are UMoncton's athletes of the week
Sophie Hédou of Edmundston and Maxime Boudreau of Cap-Pelé New Brunswick are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes for the week of February 5 to 11, 2024, as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Mid court player Sophie Hédou was an important player in the Aigles Bleues two women's volleyball games last weekend. She had 18 kills with 3 ace serves and 8 solid blocks at the net. Her play allowed her team to come from behind in both games to win. She is a 2nd year student in the Bachelor of Education-Physical Education.
Centre Maxime Boudreau played three games last week with the Aigles Bleus in men's hockey. He scored 2 goals in Friday night's win with 4 shots and won 4 of 10 faceoffs. A mostly defensive player, he had 2 shots on goal and won 10 of 23 faceoffs in the other two games. He is a 1st year Master of Business Administration (MBA-Coop) student.
