Hockey: Aigles Bleues vs. X-Women Wednesday in Antigonish
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (14-10-0-2=30pts, 4th position) visit the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women (19-4-2-0=40pts, 2nd position) on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in an Atlantic University Sport women's hockey game in Antigonish.
This is the penultimate game of the regular season, and the final standings are still to be determined for 3 teams. Both teams are guaranteed a playoff berth, but Moncton would like to finish in 4th place to have home-ice advantage for the quarter-final playoffs next week.
“With two games to go, it's important to keep building towards the playoffs,” said Aigles Bleues coach Marc-André Côté. “We've won our last 2 games, and the playoffs are just around the corner. It's important for the team to play a consistent game and fine-tune certain aspects of our game.”
The final game of the regular season is scheduled for Friday when the Mount Allison University Mounties visit at 7:30 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena.
