53 UMoncton athletes on U SPORTS Honour Roll


HONOUR ROLL – Several students/athletes from the Université de Moncton's Moncton campus were honoured as members of the U SPORTS Academic Honour Roll at a ceremony. Several members of the management were present along with the coaches and athletes.

There are 53 athletes from the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton sports teams who are on the U SPORTS Academic Honor Roll for the 2022-2023 academic and sports season.

“I wish to recognize these students/athletes for their academic achievements while playing high-caliber sport,” said Martine LeBlanc, Director of Athletics. “Education is important in university sports, and everyone needs to find their priorities. It's important to organize your time to do well, which you have done brilliantly. You have represented the institution well.”

These athletes maintained an academic GPA of 3.7 or higher during the academic year. The athletes are:

Women's volleyball: Jasmine Allain, in kinesiology, from Richibucto; Joanie Arsenault, in elementary education, from Tracadie; Claudie Chiasson, in elementary education, from Beresford; Émilie-Anne Chiasson, in social work, from Rivière-à-la-Truite; Cassidy Martin, in education, from Saint-Charles; Kyana Sivret, in social work prep, from Rivière-à-la-Truite and Emily Robichaud, in marketing, from Dieppe.

Women's soccer: Mariève Allain, in D.S.S., from Dieppe; Isabelle Brun, in nutrition, from Dieppe; Alexane Dupuis, in physical education, from Dieppe; Katarina Laevski, in D.S.S., from Campbellton; Monica Mazerolle, in physical education, from Rexton and Aleksis Roy, in criminology, from Moncton.

Women's hockey: Audrey Berthiaume, in elementary education, from Saint-Bruno; Janie Caissie, in kinesiology, from Sainte-Anne-de-Kent; Cassandra Call, in education, from Navan; Alexia Desforges, in kinesiology, from Clarence-Rockland; Lianne Desforges, in criminology, from Clarence-Rockland; Clémence Dumesnil, in education, from Laval; Émilie Lalancette, in education, from St. Andrews West; Aryann Lamoureux, in engineering (civil), from Saint-Hyacinthe; Pascale Lebeau, in biochemistry, from Louiseville and Élodie St-Jacques, in administration, from Saint-Jérôme.

Athletics: Samuel Bourque, in administration coop, from Notre-Dame; Gabriel Gagné, in education, from Moncton; Ghislain Girouard, in education, from Moncton; Kyla Hughes, in kinesiology, from Cocagne; Joëlle Léger, in psychology, from Dieppe; Max Mazerolle, in education, from Cocagne; Lucas Poirier, in criminology, from Aldouane; Aris Saheb, in kinesiology, from Moncton and Jérémie Thériault, in kinesiology, from Saint-Louis-de-Kent.

Cross country and track: Amélie Cormier, in nutrition, from Caraquet; Gabriel Côté, in education, from Saint-Louis-de-Kent, Alain Lavoie, in education, from Dieppe and Julien Thibodeau, in mathematics, from Bathurst.

Cross country: Myriam Cormier, in social work, from Caraquet and Maude Lepage, in nutrition, from Moncton.

Men's soccer: Maxime Thériault-Bertrand, in marketing, from Truro; Gaël Cousin, in history, from Héric, France; Thomas Maillet, in biochemistry, from Moncton and Pascal Sonier, in engineering (mechanical), from North Tetagouche.
