Women's hockey: 2 games in Nova Scotia for the Aigles Bleues

The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues will play two road games this weekend in Atlantic University Sport women's hockey.

Marc-André Côté's squad (12-9-0-2=26pts, 5th position) will be in Antigonish on Friday to face the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women (17-3-2-0=36pts, 1st position). On Saturday, the Aigles Bleues will be in Halifax for a matchup with the Saint Mary's University Huskies (14-5-1-2=31pts, 3rd position), both games at 7 p.m.

There are 5 games left in the regular season and Moncton has won its last two games. The team also qualified for the postseason. These games are Against higher ranked teams.

“For sure we're in playoff mode and we've got two big tests ahead of us. It will be interesting to see where we are in our preparation for the playoffs,” said Aigles Bleues coach Marc-André Côté. “We still have a chance to climb in the standings, but the important thing for now is to focus on our work habits and the details of the game. Consistency in our game is important to play a full 60 minutes.”

Erica Plourde of the Aigles Bleues moved into 4th place in the AUS scoring list with 13 goals and 11 assists for 24 points in 23 games. She has 3 power-play goals and 116 shots on net. She is 2 points behind the leaders in the standings, two Reds players. Shani Rossignol is 12th with 18 points on 7 goals and 11 assists. Cassandra Call is 3rd among defensemen with 12 points on 12 assists. Annick Boudreau is 8th among goaltenders with a .583 average, 7 wins, 5 losses and a 1.98 goals-against average.
