Annick Boudreau and Jacob Dion are UMoncton's athletes of the week
Annick Boudreau of Memramcook New Brunswick and Jacob Dion of Sherbrooke Québec are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes for the week of January 15 to 21, 2024, as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Goaltender Annick Boudreau recorded two shutouts this weekend during the Aigles Bleues' women's hockey games. She gave her team the chance to add 4 important points in the Atlantic University Sport standings. She made 42 (23 and 19) saves in the two games, including key saves with her pads or glove with a fraction of a second timing. Her play motivated her teammates to push themselves more offensively and defensively. She is a 4th year student in the Bachelor of Education-Physical Education Program.
Defenceman Jacob Dion was a bright light for the Aigles Bleus in men's hockey with remarkable performances despite his team's two losses. He took one shot Friday night and two on Thursday. He blocked a number of shots in front of the net and got his team's offence going again and again. He is a 2nd year student in the Bachelor of Social Sciences-Criminology.
