The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (5-7=10pts, 5th position) will do their best to get back to winning ways this weekend when they host the Acadia University Axewomen (8-4=16pts, 2nd position) in Atlantic University Sport women's volleyball games.

The public is invited to cheer on the Blue and Gold on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud gymnasium on the Moncton campus.

With 10 games left in the regular season, Joline Richard's squad wants to turn the tide that caused them to lose their last two games. The Aigles Bleues won 22 sets and lost 26. The Axewomen have also lost their last 2 outings with 28 wins and 19 losses, losing first place in the standings to the Saint Mary's University Huskies.

Moncton lost 3-0 and 3-1 to Acadia in November and won 3-2 in the preseason game on Jan. 3.

“We definitely don't want to lose ground to the 4th-place team,” said coach Joline Richard. “We're 4 points behind UNB and we're still aiming for a playoff spot, so we need to finish at least 4th. It's going to be another interesting battle against the Axewomen. We know we have the elements and the skills to win. We'll have to keep our focus on our game and be aggressive on the court.”

The public will be able to purchase tickets to attend the games at the entrance of the CEPS gymnasium before the game.
