The race to qualify for the end-of-season playoffs is well underway in this second semester. The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues will do everything they can to add 4 points to the standings in two games of Atlantic University Sport women's hockey on Friday and Sunday at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena on the Moncton campus.

Marc-André Côté's team (10-9-0-2=22pts, 6th position) will host the St. Thomas University Tommies (10-6-2-2=24pts, 4th position) on Friday at 7 p.m. and the Mount Allison University Mounties (2-15-2-1=7pts, 8th position) on Sunday at 4 p.m. These are two different teams, one ranked higher and the other lower.

The Tommies have lost their last 4 games and the Mounties their last one. Moncton also lost its last outing.

“These are two important games for us,” said Aigles Bleues coach Marc-André Côté. “The Tommies are having a very good season and Mount Allison is the hardest working team in the league. These are great challenges for our group. Playing well early will be important and we need to compete for 60 minutes. All the players will have to contribute if we want to be successful.”

The Aigles Bleues have a chance to qualify for the playoffs with two wins in the event of the other clubs’ losses. Élodie St-Jacques and Aryann Lamoureux will play their 50th game and Émilie Lalancette and Émilie Comeau will play their 70th game in an Aigles Bleues uniform on Friday.

People may purchase tickets to attend the games at the arena box office one hour before game time.
