The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus have struggled against the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers this season and the two teams will face off Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game.

Derek Cormier's team sits in 2nd place in the regular standings with a 13-7-2-0 record in 22 of 30 games. The team has won its last three games. The Panthers are in 5th place with a 9-10-1-2 record and have won their last two games. Moncton scored 78 goals and allowed 77 compared to 72 and 73 for the Panthers.

The Panthers have won all three meetings between the two clubs so far this season by scores of 4-2, 5-2 and 7-0.

“We're definitely looking to put an end to this losing streak against the Panthers,” said Aigles Bleus coach Derek Cormier. “We have some difficulties against this team. We will have to come out strong and continue throughout the game. We want to widen the gap between us and the other teams behind us in 3rd place.”

Moncton holds a 5-point lead over the Saint Mary's University Huskies and St. Francis Xavier University X-Men that have 23 points each. There are 8 games left before the start of the playoffs. Moncton could clinch a playoff berth with a win, having a 16-point lead over the last-place Dalhousie Tigers.

Defenseman Denis Toner and forward William Basque will play their 70th game in an Aigles Bleus uniform and defenseman Yann-Félix Lapointe will play his 75th game.

People can purchase tickets for the game at the CEPS reception desk during or at the arena box office starting at 6 p.m. on the night of the game.
