Annick Boudreau and Olivier Adam are UMoncton's athletes of the week
Annick Boudreau of Memramcook New Brunswick and Olivier Adam of Drummondville, Québec, are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes for the week of January 8 to 14, 2024, as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Goaltender Annick Boudreau made two incredible saves late in the game on Thursday to give the Aigles Bleues a 3-2 win. She made 21 saves during the game and several with a fairly high degree of difficulty. She was solid in net, with one of the goals coming on the power play. She is a 4th year student in the Bachelor of Education-Physical Education.
Goaltender Olivier Adam was busy during the Aigles Bleus two overtime wins in men's hockey last weekend. He faced 70 shots, including 43 in 61:09 on Saturday night in the 5-4 win. He was a star in the first period with 19 shots and only one goal. He also saved the day for his team throughout the game. He faced 27 shots and allowed 2 goals on Friday night in 60:47. He was chosen the 1st star of the game. He kept his team in the game to give them a chance to win. He is a 1st year civil engineering student.
