Athletics: 29 athletes from UMoncton at the Saturday meet

There are 29 members of the two Université de Moncton track and field teams who will be in action on Saturday with the presentation of the Moncton Open Doyle Corporate Image meet at the Vance-Toner Stadium of the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud on the Moncton campus.

Coach Steve LeBlanc has been training his troops quite extensively over the past two weeks to prepare his athletes for the various events on schedule.

Nearly 200 athletes are expected to attend the meet, which brings together youth categories and university level. The Saint Mary's University Huskies, University of Cape Breton Capers, University of Prince Edward Island Panthers, University of New Brunswick Reds, and Dalhousie University Tigers will have athletes in various events. 

The Aigles Bleues in competition are Ophelia Adas, Léarose Aucoin, Sophie Black, Zoé Brockbank, Annie Clarke, Gabrielle Côté, Valérie Déry, Erika Desprès, Abby Dubé, Caroline Gagnon, Véronique Girouard, Eloïse Hachey, Joëlle Léger, Hannah Levyssohn, Madalyn MacKinnon and Niakim Nimat.

The Aigles Bleus who will be in action on Saturday are Guillaume Basque, Yannick Boudreau, Yannick Dupuis, Gabriel Gagné, Ghislain Girouard, Noah Langille, Alain Lavoie, Pascal LeBlanc, Max Mazerolle, Rémi Ouellette and Julien Thibodeau.

It all starts around 9 a.m. on Saturday with the youth and around 10 a.m. in the university sector and ends around 5 p.m.
