The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues will play two road games in Nova Scotia on Friday and Saturday in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey.

Derek Cormier's squad sits in 2nd place in the overall standings with 24 points and will play these games against two teams with very different records. The Acadia University Axemen (6-11-0-2=15pts, 6th position) will host the Bleu et Or on Friday night at 7 p.m. in Wolfville while the Saint Mary's University Huskies (11-9-0-0=22pts, 3rd position) will be the opponents on Saturday night at the same time in Halifax. Only 2 points separate these two teams.

“The second half of the year is always more competitive as teams look to improve their playoff standings,” said coach Derek Cormier. “Even with a lower record than the Huskies, the Axemen offer a tough opposition. We'll have to make sure we stay focused.”

“The standings are tight for 2nd to 4th place, and we want to maintain our 2nd place,” said player Nathaël Roy. “Every team is fighting for something in the 2nd half and for us, it's number 2 with Saint Mary's and StFX. We'll have to find consistency in our game to keep that going in the playoffs. We're going to focus on our game and play a full 60 minutes.”

The two players on the injured list, captain and forward Mika Cyr and defenceman Marc-Antoine Mercier, have been cleared to return to action following an injury absence. They are expected to return to the lineup at the end of the week.

The Aigles Bleus have won all three meetings so far this season against each of these two teams. Forward Nathaël Roy will play his 75th game in the blue and gold on Friday.
