The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (18gp, 10-6-2-0=22pts, 2nd place) will play two home games at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena this weekend in Atlantic University Sport's men's hockey action.

Derek Cormier's squad, which has won its last two games of the first semester, will host the Dalhousie University Tigers (18gp, 4-12-2-0=10pts, 7th position) on Friday and the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men (18pg, 10-7-1-0=21pts, 3rd position) on Saturday, both games at 7 p.m. The last 2 wins have been on the road against these same two teams.

“The players can't wait to get back to competition after the month-long break,” said coach Derek Cormier. “The 2nd semester is always more competitive as the teams prepare for the end-of-season playoffs. We've been practicing for the past week to prepare for our final 12 games of the regular season. The X-Men are hot on our heels, and we want to widen the gap between our two teams. The Tigers are always tough opponents, and we will have to make sure we put in a 60-minute performance in each game. We have 6 weeks left of games and time flies by. Every game is important, and we play them one at a time.”

The Tigers have lost their last six games and the X-Men have lost their last three. Rookie forward Jeremy Lapointe is the Aigles Bleus leading scorer with 9 goals and 12 assists for 21 points, 7th in the AUS. Defenseman Jacob Dion is 9th in the AUS and 3rd among defensemen with 4 and 15 for 19 points. Goaltender Olivier Adam is 6th in the AUS with a .901 goals-against average in 16 games.

Tickets can be purchased to attend the games during the day at the CEPS reception desk or at the arena box office starting at 6 p.m. each evening.

Mika Cyr remains on the injured list.
