Hockey: Aigles Bleus face X-Men on Wednesday
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (8-6-2-0=18 pts, 3rd position) will be on the road to the East on Wednesday when the team travels to Antigonish to face the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men (10-5-1-0=21pts, 2nd position) in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game.
The Blue and Gold have lost their last two games and the X-Men their last one.
The Aigles Bleus have scored 62 goals and allowed 60 for a minus-8 difference while the X-Men have a record of 62 and 54, a difference of 8.
“With two games to play this week, it's important for the team to get back on track for 60 minutes and make sure we stick to the game plan,” said Aigles Bleus coach Derek Cormier. “We lost 4-3 to this team on November 10th and a 2-point will bring us closer to the 2nd position in the standings. It's another important game and we can't have bad streaks against these teams at the top of the standings.”
The Aigles Bleus will play one last game before the holiday break on Friday in Halifax against the Dalhousie University Tigers. This will be the 17th game of 30 in the regular season.
