Madalyn MacKinnon and Max Mazerolle are UMoncton's Athletes of the Week
Madalyn MacKinnon of Chaplin Island Road and Max Mazerolle of Cocagne, New Brunswick, are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes of the week from November 20 to 26, 2023 as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Madalyn MacKinnon won the 600m event with the best AUS time of the season and a personal best of 1:41;74 at the Défi Bleu et Or meet held Saturday at the Vance-Toner Stadium of the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud. She is currently ranked first in the Atlantic in this discipline. She is a first-year student in the health sciences diploma program.
Max Mazerolle won gold in the long jump (6.11 m) and shot put (11.69 m), the latter with a personal best at the Défi Bleu et Or competition on Saturday. He is currently ranked 2nd in the 60 m and long jump and 3rd in shot put in AUS. He is a third-year student in the Bachelor of Kinesiology program.
