Hockey: Reds visit Aigles Bleus on Saturday
Following an outing that didn’t prove anything, the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (8-5-2-0=18pts, 3rd position) will have to get back on track on Saturday when they host the No. 1 ranked team in the country, the University of New Brunswick Reds (14-0-0-0=28pts, 1st position) in an Atlantic University Sport men's hockey game at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena on the Moncton campus.
Derek Cormier's squad lost in overtime to the Reds in the last game between the two clubs and the team would like to be able to inflict a first loss of the season on its provincial opponents. Moncton lost its last game 7-0 to the Panthers on Wednesday.
“It's going to be interesting in front of our fans to be able to come out strong at the first whistle,” said coach Derek Cormier of the blue and gold. “We led 3-1 in the last game against the Reds, and they scored twice on the power play in the 3rd to tie the game. Their offense is a very strong machine, and you must stay out of the penalty box. Discipline and play for 60 minutes are required. We know what's in store for us on the other side of the ice and it's imperative that we respond well.”
Tickets for the game can be purchased at the CEPS reception desk during the day or starting at 6 p.m. at the arena box office on Saturday.
