Volleyball: Aigles Bleues to host the Reds on Saturday at 2 p.m
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (3-4=6pts, 5th position) will play their 8th and final game of the first semester when they host the University of New Brunswick Reds (4-3=8pts, 4th position) on Saturday at 2 p.m. in an Atlantic University Sport women's volleyball game at the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud gymnasium on the Moncton campus.
Having won their last two games in a decisive way, Joline Richard's charges have every intention of winning against the Reds that are only 2 points ahead in the standings. Moncton has won 14 sets and lost 17 in the first 7 games and the Reds are 16 and 11. The game promises between the two teams who have quite similar records. The Aigles Bleues lost 3-2 to the Reds in their only meeting so far this season.
“We have teams that are similar, and the victory will go to the team that knows how to control the ball the best,” said coach Joline Richard of the Aigles Bleues. “Our last two wins have shown that we can play with determination and winning, even in the close score sets. We've played 4 or 5 sets in 6 of the 7 games so far. The players are gaining experience with each game. We aim to end the first half of the year on a high note.”
The Aigles Bleues will return to action on Friday, January 5 at home for the first of the last 12 games to be played in the regular season.
People are invited to the game and can purchase their game ticket at the door of the gymnasium at the CEPS.
