The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (9-4-0-2= 20pts, 3rd position) will have had only one day to prepare for the visit of the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women (9-1-2-0=20pts, 2nd position) on Friday at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in an Atlantic University Sport women's hockey game at 7 p.m.

Marc-André Côté's squad snapped a 3-game winning streak with a loss Wednesday night in Fredericton against the top-seeded team. It's the second-place race that comes up on Friday night. Both teams have similar records, which should make for an exciting game to take a lead in the standings. The X-Women's offence has scored 41 goals, and the defence has allowed 25 in 15 games, the lowest number in the league for a 16-point difference. Moncton's record is 41 and 39, a difference of 2, and the same number of goals scored. The visitors have won their last two games.

“We'll have to recover quickly from Wednesday night's loss,” said coach Marc-André Côté. “We must get back to our winning ways with our last two games of the first semester. It all begins on Friday. We must play a good first period to get our momentum going. The scores are close and it's important to be disciplined and play our game.”

The X-Women won the only game between the two clubs so far this season by a score of 3-1. The work of the special teams will be interesting because of the similar offensive record.

Tickets for the game will be available for purchase at the arena box office starting at 6 p.m. Friday. The Aigles Bleues will complete the first semester schedule next Wednesday against the Dalhousie University Tigers in Halifax.
