Lianne Desforges and Thomas Pelletier are the UMoncton athletes of the week
Lianne Desforges of Clarence-Rockland, Ontario, and Thomas Pelletier of Quebec, Quebec are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes of the week from October 30 to November 4, 2023, as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Right winger Lianne Desforges was an offensive force for the Aigles Bleues in the week's two wins against top teams. She scored the two (2) game-winning goals and finished with two goals and an assist. She blocked four (4) shots from opposing players while taking 10 shots (6 and 4) and finishing with a +3 rating. She made a huge contribution to the team both on and off the ice. She was named the first star of the game on Saturday. She is a third-year student in social sciences-criminology.
Defenceman Thomas Pelletier played valuable minutes in both games for his Aigles Bleus men’s hockey team. He scored a goal in each of the two games, took 4 shots and finished Friday's game at +2. His defensive and offensive play was an inspiration to his team. He is a second-year bachelor of arts-psychology student.
