Hockey: Aigles Bleues and Reds Duel on Saturday
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (5-3-0-1=11 pts, 4th position) will have a good idea of their progress on Saturday when they visit the University of New Brunswick Reds (8-1-0-0=16pts, 1st position) at 7 p.m. at the Aitken University Centre in Fredericton in an Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey game.
Moncton won its last outing 3-1 last Wednesday and the team showed more energy on the ice, something coach Marc-Andre Côté is looking for with more consistency offensively.
“The team followed the game plan better on Wednesday and it will be important to continue in that direction against the Reds,” said coach Marc-Andre Côté. “It's a big game ahead of us against the first-place team. It will be important to keep the focus and play the full 60 minutes. We also want to make sure we come out strong and play according to our system.”
The Reds have scored 34 goals and allowed 15 in 9 games. The Blue and Gold have a record of 27 and 27. The game can be viewed at the AUStv.ca.
