The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues and Aigles Bleus and the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers will face off Wednesday in the two university communities of these neighbouring provinces.

The Aigles Bleus (6-2-0-0=12pts, 2nd position) and the Panthers (2-6-0-0=4pts, 7th position) will face off at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena in men's hockey. The Aigles Bleues and Panthers will be in Charlottetown in women's hockey at the same time.

Derek Cormier's team has just won its last 6 duels and hopes to add another two points to the standing in front of its home crowd.

“We are working well as a team over the last few weekends,” forward Rémy Anglehart said of the team's success offensively and defensively. “We're working as a team and it's going to be the same mindset on Wednesday. We follow our routine, and we will be ready with the same energy.”

The Panthers have lost their last three games, and coach Derek Cormier knows that can be a source of motivation for his opponents. “We're going to have to be ready for another big game because the Panthers have a good team,” he said. “Their players work hard. We're going to control what we do ourselves. We had two training sessions to prepare, and everything is back to normal. We need to forget what we did last weekend and focus on Wednesday.”

For their part, the Aigles Bleues (4-3-0-1=9pts, 5th position) cross the Confederation Bridge to face the Panthers (2-6-0-0=4pts, 7th position).

“We must bounce back from last Saturday's performance,” said Aigles Bleues coach Marc-André Côté. “We need to change the way we do things. UPEI won its last game, and it will be a good challenge.” The Aigles Bleues lost their last game against the Tommies on Saturday in Fredericton.

Rookie Jeremy Lapointe is 6th in the league scoring race with 6 goals and 4 assists for 10 points, 3 behind the leader. Jérémy Michel is 8th with 4 and 5 for 9 pts. Olivier Adam has the 2nd best average among goaltenders with .920.

Elizabeth Galipeau, another rookie, is 5th in the women's hockey scoring rankings with 6 goals and 3 assists for 9 points, 3 behind the leader after 8 games. Valérie Haché is 8th with 2 and 5 for 7 points.
