Kyana Sivret and Nathaël Roy are the UMoncton athletes of the week
Kyana Sivret of Rivière-à-la-Truite, New Brunswick, and Nathaël Roy of Lévis, Quebec, are the IRM Moncton MRI athletes of the week from October 23 to 29, 2023 as chosen by the Athletic Department of the Moncton campus of the Université de Moncton.
Mid-court player Kyana Sivret was named her team's player of the game in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Dalhousie University Tigers in women's volleyball. She had 12 kills, an ace, 2 blocks and 12 digs and added 14 kills and 8 digs on Sunday in her team's 3-2 loss. She excelled on the court in both games and contributed greatly to the Aigles Bleues' first win over the Tigers in many years. She played with confidence and intensity. She is a third-year student in social work.
Forward Nathaël Roy was an important part of the Aigles Bleus two victories in men's hockey this weekend against two renowned teams. He was named the first star on Friday with 2 goals and an assist in the team's 6-2 win. He took 7 shots, skillfully scored on a penalty shot and finished the game at +2. He added an insurance goal on Saturday with 4 shots and +1. He was a leader on the ice and played many minutes. He is a third-year student in bachelor of engineering (mechanical engineering).
