The 2023-2024 Atlantic University Sport women's volleyball season promises to be exciting as the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues host the Dalhousie University Tigers on Saturday and Sunday at the CEPS Louis-J.-Robichaud gymnasium on the Moncton campus.

Both games are at 2 p.m. and people may buy tickets at the gym door on game day.

“We're really looking forward to and we are excited about this new season,” said Joline Richard, who is entering her second season as head coach. “We played a few preseason games, and the team is ready for the start of the season to face teams in our league. We're playing the last few years champions and it's an accepted challenge. It's a great way to start the season to see where we stand. We've been working on a lot of plays, and we'll be ready for Saturday and Sunday. We're aiming to make the playoffs and we'll see from there.”

The team is made up of a good mix of veterans and young players who are proud to wear the Aigles Bleues jersey. The team should have a good season with the goal of qualifying for the year-end playoffs. There are 5 rookies and 11 veterans.

Off-side player Kyana Sivret is starting her 3rd year with the Aigles Bleues. “We're going to do our best, we're ready and we've been training a lot,” she said. “We're excited. We have a great team with great energy. We've been training for this for two months. We face the championship team with a good game plan.”

There are six teams in the league and the top 4 qualify to advance. The regular season ends around mid-February.

The Tigers finished atop last season's standings with a record of 17 and 3 and Moncton finished in 5th place with 5 and 15. The Tigers went on to win the AUS championship.

A ceremony will be held on Saturday to kick off the season. All members of the team will be introduced to the public. Sunday's game is dedicated to the parents of the players who will be present for the game.
